Crouton recipe

Add some crunch to your favourite homemade soup or caesar salad with our beloved Crouton recipe; perfect for those chilly Winter evenings or fresh alfresco light meals.

 

Ingredients

  • slice of cooked DA bread (white or seeded)
  • 1 tbsp of olive oil
  • A pinch of Salt
  • A pinch of Pepper
  • Dried parsley
  • 1 garlic clove

Baking Instructions

  1. Heat the oven to 220C/200C fan/Gas Mark 7
  2. Rub the garlic clove over both surfaces of the bread
  3. Cut bread slice in 16 squares (4x4)
  4. Add to a baking tray and add thee oil, herbs and seasoning and toss to cover the squares
  5. Spread out on a baking sheet and bake for 8-10 mins until golden and crisp. Mix with the chopped parsley. Sprinkle on soup or a salad for added crunch.
